Keeping Calm & Carrying On

Sometimes, this is all I can do. After my virtual run-in this morning, I was a little shaken, but worked though it, talked with my mom and decided to hit the road. Unfortunately, I got about halfway to the mountains and decided to turn around. I wasn’t feeling so hot, was a little preoccupied with work, and was generally of the impression that I needed to stay home. A bummer, since I really really REALLY wanted to see my friends. Hopefully it will be productive as I’m feeling rather motivated in spite of everything.

I’ve realized that taking care of myself is the most important thing. No matter what anyone else does or says, so long as I have me, healthy and sane, I’m all good.

My re-planned weekend? Painting my bedroom, yoga, homeopathics and some Swine Flu research.

Calm, and moving on.

Smile, be happy!

"Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it." — Elizabeth Gilbert
