the yoga love

on the mat is a state of mind

Day 11: Wheel! Also: sweat, sweat, water, sweat & smoked salmon.

My first Wheel (assisted), a sweaty sweaty Ashtanga class at open-door, a sprint mission to costo for smoked salmon and other goodies and I LOVE MY WATER BOTTLE. It’s my new favorite.

I wish I could adequately describe the feeling of flexing my spine like I did in Wheel pose. It was almost like anti-gravity. It was lovely.

That must feel good. My lower back has never been the same since I sprained it a few years ago. The last time I tried bridge (more than a year ago), I felt the beginnings of a tweak and got right out of it. Maybe some day but I’m sticking with bridge for now. Yum, smoked salmon. Love your blog and following along on your yoga journey!

more downward dog, less downward spiral

Smile, be happy!

"Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it." — Elizabeth Gilbert
