Day 20: Sadhana

This morning was a Sunday Sadhana at blue lotus. Jill led a 3 hour class that included extended pranayama, chanting, asana and the most glorious savasana of all time. Ever. At the beginning of the practice, she reminded us that what we had signed up for was time. We had time to get to everything, and not just rush through the poses, break a sweat and get on to the next thing. We had time to be in it. Time to play. Time to process. There was enough time that we didn’t have to worry about what was next, we’d get there. There was time to be present.

more downward dog, less downward spiral

Smile, be happy!

"Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it." — Elizabeth Gilbert
